Me and Silky met back in 1984 @the ballroom in eltham se9 the Yorkshire grey pub.when we were both into our soul music and our hip hop beats! Stevie Silk known back then as (Stevie Brinn) set him self up as a mobile dj playing @ may different private parties, as he loved to play his music and wanted to share his beats!
I started raving back in 1987 when acid hit London in a big way and all the raves were underground, I loved going to the harp club in new cross ,also I would travel up to Manchester to party @the hacienda! Which is now a hotel?
I started working @club labyrynth 12 Dalston lane e8 @the end of 1988 .if you are a true raver you would of past through the doors of labrynth! And would know all about true atmosphere which rocked 12 Dalston lane, each and every weekend, which had a happy vibe every weekend with ravers having, it large, must big up the door men @labrynth. It was so great to work with you guys!
As I said Stevie Silk was doing his dj ing from 1984, he was in his favourite record shop back in 1990, Pauls for music where he brought his tunes from in whitechaple.where Billy Bunter & Amon from (liquid) worked. Stevie Silk’s mate walked into the record shop, and started talking about labrynth, his mate Mervin asked Stevie Silk if he would mind covering his set @labrynth 12 dalston lane e8! So that’s how Stevie Silk known back then as (Stevie Brinn) got his first big break thanks to Mervin! That was back in 1990, after his first set Joe and Sue of labrynth, were so impressed with him and the way he played his music, that they asked him if he would like to play sets every Friday and Saturday!!! That’s how Stevie Silk became the longest running resident house dj @labrynth for ten years from 1990 till 2000! We both worked at Labrynth and done lots of warehouse parties, wonderland arena, Tottenham sports leisure centre, turnmills, leisure lounge, ec1, sound shaft, sw1, balgeys, astora, Nathan way Tasco warehouse, rocket, lynford film studios, May fair!
I worked with Joe & Sue @labrynth from 1988 till1997, when I had my daughter Lisalouise. Who is now aged 11! Who wants to be a dj, big love to you, babe!!!!!!! Always and 4ever x!!! Watch this space! Big up dj wooshpink x x.!
Stevie Silk continued working with Joe & Sue, after leaving 12 dalston lane, when labrynth went to the pleasure rooms in Tottenham! Stevie Silk worked @ labyrinth from 1990 till 2000! It’s so funny how paths cross again!!!!!!!!!! Me & Stevie Silk, both meet in 1884 and meet again in 1990!
They say life is stranger than fiction, well that was certainly the case in meeting of Stevie Silk and Mickee Kay, they had played many times at the same venues such as, turnmils, bagleys, the pleasure rooms but there paths never crossed, then by coincidence in 2000 they both decided to take a break from dj’ing and both started driving for the same company, within weeks of meeting each other, they become very good mates, and worked out. That they had both had played at the same venues, dj’ing, but there paths had never crossed until they both worked at the same company driving important people around!!!
Mickee Kay was the resident dj @ghost and he also run his own events ,and he created a record label under the name of wonkas music factory, so when me and Stevie Silk finally started definitive beats , the first person we thought of, to bring on board was Mickee Kay!!!
So yes nutnutdawn, Stevie Silk and Mickee Kay have seen all the different vibes, and flavas of house, progressive, hard, trance, uplifting, soulful, funky, electro etc rolling through the last 21years! Also all the speeds of the hardcore vibes, & different beats of jungle, not 4getting drum & bass! Just love music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the one and only Stevie Brinn now know as (Stevie Silk). All these Djs were labrynth residents through out the years of 12 dalston lane e8.big up to of you all dj s for creating the atmosphere, and bringing on the true vibe of 12 dalston lane e8. Making labrynth what it was!!!!!!!!!! You all rocked labrynth the right way, Oi oi
If you are true old skool raver you would know all about labrynth, and how the Dj’s always got you rocking your old skool socks off!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s where the true vibes name has come from the true old skool dayz!!
So who better to team up with then, Stevie Brinn from labrynth know now has (Stevie Silk) who was there resident house dj for 10 years @labrynth, who has played @all labrynth parties & warehouse raves, over the past 10years, while he was with labrynth!!! Also my oldest pal, who I have know for 30years dj elle who also played @labrynth, who is a big part of the true vibes promotions, also must big up Lisa & dj smokee!!
Me and Stevie Silk have know each our for 18 years now!
Then we hooked up again in 2002! Thinking of ways we could both create the right atmosphere and right vibe!!!!! We first spoke about doing a radio station when we both worked @ labrynth, 1992 but the idea got lost, with all the hard partying we did, each and every weekend at labrynth!!!
After hooking up, we got talking again!!!! Putting things down on paper! We both wanted to create a happy atmosphere with true vibes giving people, quality music!! Making people feel good through the music bringing people together as one!!!!!!!!!
That’s why me and dj ellie, Stevie Silk, Lisa & smokee all created the true vibes promotions!! Doing v.i.p parties for old skool ravers who wanted a safe nite out among other old skool ravers, who just wanted to party with the right vibes!!!!!!! To go out, and have a top nite!!!! Then me & Stevie Silk started a radio station called true vibes!
But we had to scrap the idea! As my dear mum past away in 2005! Rip mum, god blesses you, mum, you will always be with me, and you will never fade from my heart!!! Love to you, 4ever! Mum! Miss ya xxx Then Silky, me & Mickee Kay started up definitivebeats.com radio station on the internet, late 2007, we are only just getting started! But we are getting wicked responses and support from lots of people from all around the world, so before we launch definitivebeats.com! We want to settle our self’s & find our feet here @definitivebeats.com! This is where the next chapter starts, so watch this space!!!!
